I'm not sure the referee was as bad as you suggest. When players of both sides are throwing themselves to the ground as if they have been shot from the stands, if play was stopped everytime it would be hopeless.
I have noticed that Tovide and latterly Lisbie have been throwing themselves to the ground from the slightest contact. When I refereed I was told that if a player rolled more than once he was not really hurt. If he stays very still then he is hurt.
Tovide rolled over three time, twice but was able to sprint away after he was ignored by the ref. Who would be a referee nowadays? |

3-1 up away from home with 35 minutes left. Did we make the right decision on how to play out the match? Obviously not.
And if your keeper goes down with an obvious head injury and is treated on the pitch for eight minutes you do NOT leave him on. He even finally left the pitch late on and management should take full responsibility for that mistake. Hope he is OK. [Post edited 13 Dec 2025 15:09]
