I missed replying to this one, although its all moot now.
I can see you've already picked a side Lassel, so its probably not worth arguing about.
I'm not sure its great to have a current player in with the fans at home and away matches. If they want to support the team there are friends and family areas where they can sit. I'm fairly confident this is for optics only, or again is ill judged.
I think Rayan will get a chance in the first team again, as it looks like he has applied himself in some recent DS games.
The club's hierarchy doesn't fill me with confidence, there is no doubt that they don't supply the full picture to any story, I'm sure they would seek to control the narrative at every turn.
But, I did see with my own eyes Rayans Dad tweeting the Nice badge, so don't try and sell me that he is bleeding blue and white etc... I'm pretty sure it was Kieron Morgans dream move to go on loan at Bradford, but his advisors have let him know its better to get league minutes than no minutes, so there is def another story to the Kolli saga imho
I also hope that Kolli plays on Friday and scores a hatrick, see how that works, doesn't have to be a fight where you only pick one side?
Agreed, and its not always the most skilful players who get into that 9% and carry on their journey.
I'm sure everyone had someone in their School/Sunday team that went on to do something in Football.
A lot of what scouts and coaches are looking for are physical attributes and mentality
Imagine how it feels for some of those 91% when you know you aren't going to make it and most of the time you are an animated mannequin for the 9% during those training sessions!
There were a couple that got away . Josh Bowler the most obvious. But I think Les mentioned a couple of players we lost to Fulham and Brentford. Maybe Cat 1 helps with this? But we need clear pathways as well. And the Kolli noise is not a help here. What a shame it all is
Just watched the new Podcast from Dave Mac and Kevin Gallen. Interesting one this week, where they had Ben Jacobs on, who runs the twitter account for the DS squad.
I knocked Ben on here before for his hyperbole over Kolli. Didn't realise how young he actually was and feel bad now.
Some good back and forth on the pod though, although I'm not sure the divide is just generational. I'm Kev's age and can see past his rose tinted glasses, I don't remember much development after Richard Langley to be fair, but I'd say a lot of that was done to investment in the other local teams, like Chelsea and even Brentford, where the academy setup was ahead of the Concorde club (as it was then).
I think the key thing they missed though, when they were talking about the previous regime not using players like Harry Murphy in the first team was to look at the pathway in front of them. I've only watched a efw of the DS games, like the Brentford final and he did look tidy, but he was playing in an area (midget 10) where QPR have not been short in for years. So, I didn't see the path into our squad.
I'm thinking his size probably stopped a NL or L2 club taking him as well, as Men's football might have swallowed him up.
Anyway, I can recommend for anyone is bored during this international break, although fair warning, Ben can sound a bit "High performance", just like Christian Nourry, if that kind of thing triggers you...
Tyler has done a few BTS videos himself, seems like a really nice guy, but I don't think he needs a LFW interview. Unlike Nick London I don't think Tyler was a QPR fan first and I'd hate for him to drop a bollock and say he liked Chelsea or something silly
Although, saying all that he probably is a fan now as he has watching some pretty poor football in recent years covering the 'Rs
I saw one of those The Rest is... podcasts where Richard explains this phenomenon.
I've never really understood it myself. I think the analogy was that a show like Friends might do two episodes in England, which cost $$$ and the trade off is that another episode might become a clip show.
So, I can see how location and set pieces have a big impact on the cost, but I don't get how being less funny is cheaper, is it just less writers?!
I think it'd be got around with player swaps instead of transfer fees and it would be more like horse trading. We are there now, when we see bang average players being transferred for huge sums of money.
Was it when we bought Luongo and bundled in another player to avoid paying agents fees? There is always a work around in Football, an asterisk in the contract.
The youth team player moves to Fulham and his mum and dad get a new car... This is just on a massive scale so big it couldnt be hidden
I'm not sure what the value would be at that point, they may as well just liquidate its assets, I doubt they really care or need to get any money back out of it
its a DS game, and Kolli is in the first team squad now. It would be more noteworthy if he played and didn't look miles above everyone else.
The goals were good, but just report it.
I'm just bored of reading about how much fire icons Kolli has playing for the kids. IMHO its embarrassing, he should be an established starter in the first team and then we can start to crow about all the cooking he is going to do
I mean if they did get relegated to L2 wouldn't it be just as easy for the Saudi investment fund to just buy a Champ club and get back to the Prem in a year?
I don't think they have any love for Man City, they are just the vehicle aren't they?
