The incoming labour government should be looking at all of this. Given that theyve pledged not to put up income tax or national insurance (beer and petrol tax rises here we go,) and there are huge demands on public services, it would make their life a hell of a lot easier if they can crack down on benefits, tax dodging, everything being discussed here |

The reason we have mass immigration is that there are millions of brits not working and claiming incapacity benefit. Neither party has faced up to this issue. There has to be a good percentage that arent genuine. There are quite a few in my local area. Thete is undoubtedly a lot of people struggling, but a lot of those on benefits dont seem to be doing too badly |

Whilst I share your concerns about what the tories will look like in a few years, sometimes things turn out differently. Less than five years ago the tories won a stonking majority, and Labour looked knackered after corbyn. Now they are on the cusp of the walloping majority. Who can tell |

I went to Canterbury yesterday (even though I'm a middlesex supporter), for the first time in years. The frustrating thing was kent battled really hard yesterday, and then totally imploded today. Parkinson showed the top order the application needed! |

His big misjudgement was that they were lagging badly in the polls, and so he tried to buy back some ukip votes by pledging a referendum. I don't think he expected to get a majority. In my opinion though,, he was decent in thd 2010-15 period, and I thought the coalition worked well. But that referendum was a cock up and they have turned to shit since |

Very true. On both sides far too many of them have just gone to university and joined either main party as a career choice. It doesn't work, Matt Hancock was a prime example of this. The Labour candidate in my area one year was 19. He didn't stand any chance of getting in, but he probably will do somewhere this time.
Of the labour shadow cabinet, the one I think is most impressive is Stephen Reid, and when you go through them he is the only one with any business experience. |

I don't deny the problems you list. However, Paul Johnson of the ifs was on the radio earlier saying the next government will have to make cuts. Given the demands on the system, the public sector unions wanting their pound of flesh it's a difficult problem. Labour can't really complain about this either, as they were calling for even more furlough and more lock downs.
There is only so much you can tax the rich, as they leave the country. So the burden will fall even more on the working man. So not a lot to look forward to |

It's undoubtedly time for a change, but I can't see any advantage in labour being in government at all. Over the years they have evolved into the middle class public sector workers wellbeing party. Nothing will improve, but they'll just put taxes up even more. It's all Pretty depressing. I keep telling myself they can't be that bad, but I think they will. I could also do with living in a cave for the next couple of months so I don't have to listen to all the drivel |

One of the main problems with the championship now is the points system. The ball might be an issue, I was surprised there were so many runs scored this week, but there are too many draw points which promotes negative play. What is the point of glamorgan racking up 620, such a dull game, but as they get maximum batting points and draw points they don't care.I don't see how it develops test players either as flogging a bowling attack that's lost the will is not representative of test cricket.
Three day championship again, no draw points, fits in much better with the bazball way. Then they could have some championship cricket actually in the summer again. Might be a bit more of a spectacle again.
Interesting to hear what you guys were saying about Beckenham. Would be much better for kent, they have become Canterbury cc over the years. |

I'd keep him personally. He may be limited at present and been poor today, but he has had some good moments this year. I'd agree that a loan spell might do him some good. I think there's potential to work with there anyway |

I used to go to welling a bit when I was younger, as I grew up in Erith. Haven't been for years though, and haven't lived there for over 30 years.
Have occasionally gone to Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, but not often.
I actually think non league football seems ridiculously expensive, was about 12 quid to see Tonbridge last time I went and that wasn't recently. Would rather pay more and see QPR(even this season) |
