Came in to replace a very young Tim Flowers who'd lost confidence and then mentored him into becoming the keeper he was. He also put Ossie Ardiles on his arse during a 2-1 win over Spurs on Boxing Day in 1987, that if nothing else means he can't be the worst |

I stopped listening to AB towards the end of Ralph’s time with us
His admiration and friendship with him clouded his journalistic judgment imo
After every defeat the questions were asked with a ready made answer ie “So Ralph, another defeat today for your injury ravaged squad”
On a different note, does Lewis Coombes support Saints? Or is he there for South Today
I’ve seen him outside the family stand at every game I’ve been to this season |

Yep, we were there, it was a Burnden Park
Hall scored two quick goals, pretty much identical headers from corners in the first half and we were cruising. Second half was totally different and we were hanging on at the end
Memories fade but from recollection it was freezing cold and half of the away end was a super market
Didn’t go to the replay so listened to it on the wireless and watched the highlights, brilliant equaliser by Barry Horne and impromptu pitch invasion. |

I’m bringing my Kiwi brother in law down to the match
Whilst he follows Saints he’s never been to a football match before, so if you see me taking selfies in the family stand, don’t judge me

Whilst i admit i was surprised that he started on Sunday it was the right decision
He knew what that game meant and what would be expected
Not much between him and Wood for me, both have flaws in their game but you can’t drop him at the moment and deserves to keep his place in the side
Also, you could give him a bit of credit by not calling him slack jack!!! [Post edited 15 Oct 13:05]

Very happy with the win, wasn't confident to be honest as it would be classic Saints to lose after the win on Sunday
Nice to see a couple of the squad players with important contributions tonight
Edoze turned that idiot Stacey, who's dreadful tackle on Sam a few years back kept him out for months just when he'd hit some good form, in the build up to the goal and Dobbin with the goal line clearance |

Whilst I’m still very happy that we won, we should beat them, there’s not one player in their side that’s better than ours or who would get in ours
It’s been a source of frustration that we haven’t beaten them in the last 4 games when we could and probably should have won all of them |

87, 04, 05, 12 and February this year
I'm working for a Coventry fan at the moment, he said about how long it had been since we last beat them in the league, I pointed out that we'd played them 5 times before yesterday in the last 20 odd years |

Easy to give it the biggun when you’ve got a load of OB and a fence separating you. They’re as quiet as mice when they’re outnumbered, but quite happy to bully people when they know they’ve got more numbers
Where I live I’m surrounded by the gobshites, very quick to shut up when stood up to. I was on a train and one was gobbing off to an old chap, soon shut up when I piped up that I too was “dirty scum” he got off the train at the same stop as me and literally ran off across the car park. Obviously didn’t want to take me up on the offer of a tear up in the car park. Absolute cowards and that’s why I hate them so much |

This time last year he was on loan at Charlton after being deemed surplus to requirements
Straight back in the side away at Fratton which meant we could ditch the wretched 5 at the back system and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that our form improved almost immediately

It was all about winning the game yesterday
I would have been really annoyed if we’d failed to win yesterday due to Bragg getting himself sent off as they were so poor
It still annoys me that we’ve drawn with them in the previous 4 occasions when we had a much better side and because we didn’t take our chances we didn’t beat them |

The annoying thing about the fence thing is the cozzers will use that as justification for having the bubble
As I said on another thread I drove past some coaches on the M27 at about 4, there were a couple of riot vans on the bridge near Farehan too, who wants to be stuck on a coach for hours? It will be the same when we play at Fratton |
