Fede Bessone is back and ready to play his part in the season run-in

The Swansea City defender has missed the last two and a half months of the season after picking up an injury in the 1-1 draw with Newcastle at the Liberty.

But he is now fit and has a chance of starting today against Barnsley and told the Western Mail “In football there are two ways, if you play then everything is OK but if you can’t – because you are injured or whatever – then you always have problems. It’s been a bad thing for me. I’ve been out for two months and I felt I was playing well before then. I have missed a lot and want to be able to help my team-mates.

“I started training last week and I was OK. I am feeling fit now.

“We have good, professional players and we don’t care about the pressure,” he said. “The season is very long, it is difficult to play the whole season at the same level. We’ve had some injuries and that is a bad thing. But we are in the top six and we have to be positive and think about our own game. We have to play each game in turn and it is good that we have two home games left.

“We have to look to get as much as we can from all the games. If we win the three games it would be brilliant, but it will be hard because teams like Blackpool are playing good football and they want to catch us.

“Compared to last season it has been very different for me

"Everyone saw a different Fede Bessone last season, but this season I have trained very hard. I have had a good mentality, lots of belief and have tried to learn everything the gaffer has told me.

“That is why I am OK now and trying to get back to playing good football again.”
