Refwatch Preview: Exeter v Dale
Thursday, 20th Feb 2014 13:40 by TVOS

Just seven weeks after his controversial display at Scunthorpe, referee Andy Woolmer again takes charge of a Dale match when we make the long trip to Exeter on Saturday.

His major crime on New Year’s Day, in the eyes of Dale fans, was the red card shown to Michael Rose with the match poised at 1-0 to the hosts.

On the other hand we were grateful he didn’t send-off Scott Hogan for what appeared to be a headbutt after a midfield melee.

That Hogan then went on to score against Leeds three days later showed what an important call in our favour that was!

Mr Woolmer has been a regular performer at Dale fixtures since he joined the league list in 2004 and this will be the 13th time we have seen him in the middle.

One of his most memorable Dale games was in September 2010 when Andy refereed the famous 2-0 win at Southampton, which is undoubtedly the best-ever league result achieved by any Rochdale side

Andy’s full Dale record is:

4 Sep 04 Grimsby (a), W 1-0

28 Mar 05 Wycombe (h), D 1-1

27 Sep 05 Oxford U (h), L 0-1

6 Oct 06 Darlington (a), W 5-0

9 Feb 08 Lincoln (a), L 1-2

24 Mar 08 Rotherham (h), W 4-1

27 Jan 09 Notts Co (h), W 3-0

12 Dec 09 Lincoln C (a), W 3-1

4 Sep 10 Southampton (a), W2-0

5 Nov 11 MK Dons (a), L 1-3

6 Nov 12 Port Vale (a), D 2-2

1 Jan 14 Scunthorpe (a), L 0-3

So far this season Andy has refereed 21 games, showing 61 yellow cards and that one red to Rose.
