There was something very likable about Moses as a person, but I was never too keen on him as a player. It'll be interesting to see if we go for one or two new signings at RB. I guess MB will want to assess Kakay first.

Regardless of assessing Ossie, I think we'll be getting an RB.

Bare bones.

Shame I like the guy, decent player. There is a very definite lowering of the squad age group. I was under the impression that Albert was staying, but even that didn't look done and dusted. Hope they keep Johansen on.

Never knowingly right.

I seem to be in a minority but still think Ossie Kakay could be decent at RB.

Seems an odd call, maybe on medical advice? Have to hope we've got a couple of better, cheaper options waiting in the wings.

Always gave 100% but made a lot of mistakes. Shame to see him go, useful player and I don’t think we saw the best of him.

Wish him good luck on his next move.

I'm another one in the camp. Think he's decent and a good back up

Another vote for Kakay here, especially in a 4.

He’s no Roberto Carlos but he’s solid.

Not a great loss for me.

Tore it up against Man United and then spent rest of the campaign either injured, suspended, hitting the first man or Ellerslie Road with crosses or generally just below average.
Can't afford these sort of players when they're pulling a decent wage and I'd say our offer for him to stay way short of what he was on.

We move on.........

Cherish and enjoy life.... this ain't no dress rehearsal

Kakay is absolutely fine as a squad player in a multitude of positions, good even. Is he a top 6 team’s RB? Not yet. I would imagine we’ll sign a younger (hopefully better) version of Odubajo in the next few weeks. I must say, I didn’t rate Moses defensively. Though he was a but of a liability (Kakay much stronger) but he was better going forwards an in possession.

Do we know if Mo was ever in contract talks, or is this the first we've heard of his status?

Thought he was a good player on his day and in the latter half of the season was very good in places when he came back from injury. I don't think he was on a massive wage either because of the reservations about returning from a bad injury before joining us, I suspect that in part he may have been playing for a better contract for next season with us or at least putting himself in the shop window for other teams to show he can still play and his original injury was no longer a problem. Looks like with new management in place they have decided against taking him on at a price/contract length that either side was comfortable with.

Good luck Moses, like what you did for us and when it worked could be very effective, shame we didn't get to see as much of that as we hoped.

Never knowingly understood

So we're parting ways with Moses..?

Apart from the Man U goal and a few decent performances in the latter half of the season when all around was turning into shit, I thought he was pretty poor to average. Mostly average.

He was one of several players that the club announced a couple of weeks ago were in contract talks. Interestingly with Odubajo, he was one of those who had a club option for a further year in his contract. The club decided not to invoke that option.

A player who ought to be easily replaceable.

Can’t think our number crunching technical tappers in conjunction with the tactical genius that is MB, haven’t got options in mind.

Good luck to MO.

I'm with you too, I think under Beale's coaching Ossie will flourish

I dunno I had him as one of our best players from January until his injury, while everyone else's form fell off a cliff. However it's a good chunk of wage off our bill. Good luck to him though. Is this Beale showing he has a bit of a ruthless streak?

Weird one for me. Played 33 games, so not too bad.

We had another year option on him but didn't take it up?
Wonder if Beale has someone in mind.

Smells like a trout farm in here

Our best player from February onwards, stood up when it all fell apart, unlike some more popular players.

Doesn’t look good for him, cut loose while still apparently months from being able to play. Hope he gets a way back.

A decent player once he started getting his fitness back, and under a different coaching system room to improve on a few weak points.
Got a feeling this decision could come back and bite us in the arse.

Cheers.

I'm wondering if both he and Albert have struggled with the offers they've got. Obviously Mo may not have got one at all, but it's possible they both want a bit more and it's not within the formula that's being worked to.

Pure and total speculation, of course.

The Away game at Barnsley he produced one of the worst performances I've seen for years. He seemed to be okay after not playing a few games but struggled to produce after three or four games on the trot. Haven't lost anything but didn't make any prophet.

I had a soft spot for him, but realistically, he's going to be 29 this summer - seems unlikely even the brightest coach is going to be able to fix the flaws in his game by this stage.

I'd have kept him. Athletic, committed and hugely versatile. Had some really good moments going forward too.

V good squad player.

liked him, but injured now, the medical staff have had a season to assess him and maybe came to the conclusion that fitness is going to be a constant battle, and in a tight squad that's not really doable.

No surprise. One reason that Warburton contract wasn't renewed was he was bringing in players he knew, like Moses, rather than use our current young players, ie Kakay
