Excellent piece. I think VAR may actually be doomed unless there is a review of the offside law and how it is applied. The whole hair's breadth ruling against any attacking player is ludicrous. The most sensible rule was when there had to be clear daylight between the attacker and last defender before it was offside. In any way level was still on. We have to go back to that if anything like this technology is going to exist and not, as it is, ruin the game completely.

Allowing the referee to ref and on occasion make mistakes has universally been so much of the game. Shouting 'the VAR's a bastard' just doesn't have the same ring, but the technology has killed so many euphoric moments and that's mainly because the offside rule is an absolute ass that in itself, as it stands, penalises the attacker every time.

This is a more constructive response than Forest's unhinged rant.

I think many of their complaints can be addressed without scrapping the whole thing - but if VAR is binned, it must come with a new approach for how clubs, players, managers and fans treat refs and their decisions pic.twitter.com/whLmd93l71

Have to say Wolves seem to be really doing some good stuff recently.

This is spot on as was the guy in the blindfold offering hugs, handshakes and encouragement re mental health a week or so ago.

Good to see at least one Premier League club caring about its fans at the stadium.
