Alan Tate says that the aim now is to play Man Utd twice in the league after missing the chance in the cup

The Swansea City vice captain missed the chance to pit his wits against his former employers as the Swans exited the FA Cup at Fulham on Tuesday night.

Defeat to the Cottagers meant that the money spinning home tie against the European Champions would have to wait for now but Tate insists that the Swans are preparing to try and make it a league fixture with promotion to the Premier League very much amongst the discussion points at the Liberty Stadium.

Tate told the Western Mail “Yes, we’ve missed on Man United – but the aim now is to play United twice in the league next season

“We’ve got 13 games left – so let’s have a go. The cup was a distraction, but it’s all about the league now, and hopefully coming back to places like Fulham.

“It’s a disappointment in a season where disappointments have been far and far between.

“But we’ve got to pick our heads up and get on with it.”
