Saints At Liverpool The Preview
Sunday, 25th Oct 2015 09:43

Saints travel to Anfield and it could be said they start the game as favourites for perhaps the first time ever in this fixture.

Saints travel to Liverpool with confidence and looking to make it two wins out of three games at Anfield against a Liverpool side who are disjointed, ravaged by injury and short of quality.

In many respects this could be a good time to play them before Jurgen Klopp has time to work his magic and transform a squad in the January transfer window.

I said that man for man Saints are far superior in every department in another article and that holds true and we now need to come out of the tunnel with that confidence and put Liverpool to the sword.

So there should be no excuses in this game, last week there was the tiredness issue after the international break, but that isn't the case this weekend and indeed as Liverpool played on Thursday in the Europa League, Saints should in theory be fresher and better prepared.

But we should not underestimate Liverpool, they still have some good players but they are a side without the right balance at present and Klopp can't change that overnight.

The pace of Sadio Mane will be the key and we need to replicate the last away game at Chelsea and keep it tight at the back whilst hitting them hard on the break, the centre of Liverpool's defence is suspect at the best of times and they have little options and this could cost them dearly.

So this preview is short and to the point, although Brendan Rodgers is gone and paid the price for his arrogance, we still owe them one for last summer and now is the time to get that payback.

Like it!!!! in most articles I've read we shouldn't bother turning up, from the idiot that is liar-lana spouting off that he still has lots of friends in the club, (which I find difficult to believe)and only 3 points will do against them(saints) to Firmino writing to his wife, and Sturridge racing to be fit for this one (who cares) and so on, but for me and you we need to see a vast improvement than the second half against Leicester, but the last time I saw us start like that we conceded seven against Everton some years ago, so we need to focus and upset the crowd early on by scoring or some-one like Lovren sent off due to the abuse he gets from sections of the crowd lol but whatever happens you can be sure i'll be following the Saints coyr.

Great preview in Saturday Telegraph on how Liverpool take great Saints players and turn them into mediocre ones, while Saints take hidden gems and turn them into great players for Liverpool to ruin.

Despite my low estimation of Clasie i see that RK has selected him to start at Anfield, a monumental gamble but I do hope it pays off. I will be cheering him on every moment he is on the pitch. Come on you saints let's get stuck into Liverpool.
