More Saints Fixture Changes For TV Friday, 26th Feb 2016 14:22 Saints have another couple of fixture changes due to being selected for live television coverage. Hot on the heels of Saints game against Liverpool being moved to the Sunday due to the Merseyside club's Europa League tie at Manchester United on the Thursday evening it has been announced that another two games will be changed from a 3pm Saturday to meet the demands of television. First change is the trip to the King Power Stadium to take on the high flying Foxes of Leicester City, this has now been put back to Sunday 3rd April and will kick off at 1.30pm. Likewise four weeks later when Manchester City where due to visit on Saturday 30th April, now that has been put back to Sunday May 1st this time with a 4pm kick off. However this fixture change will enable Saints fans to mark a big anniversary in the history of the club, as it was on May 1st 1976 that City's neighbours United were beaten by Saints at Wembley to bring the FA Cup to Southampton. This will mean that the 40th anniversary of that momentous moment can be honoured on the exact date and older fans will no doubt remember as the half time whistle blows in the game at St Mary's that 40 years ago almost to the exact minute they were praying for the final whistle to blow at Wembley to signify that Saints had won the cup.
