Big news in Denmark today is that Michael Laudrup's agent, the endearing Bayram Tutumlu, has made millions getting paid whenever Swansea bought players.
According to Politiken, which one of the European news papers taking part in the Football Leaks investigation, Tutumlu got paid as much as 32 million Danish kroners, something like 3.6 million £. Those payments would usually come from the selling clubs or other player agents. That however is apparently not in accordance with the official guide lines.
Also, it should be noted that Swansea suspected that Tutumlu had a hand in some wrong-doing and that they stated that as one of the reason when they fired Laudrup. Politiken found that in a letter from the club management to the League Manager's Association, dated February 13, 2014.
Both Tutumlu and Laudrups claim that they have done nothing wrong. It should also be noted that Politiken didn't find any documents indicating, that Laudrup were paid any of the money, that Tutumlu got.

I dont agree on what seems to have happened but am i surprised? no not really!
Its the premier league and it seems to be the nature of the beast, if you agree with it or not.
At the end of the day, the players that Laudrup brought in made us a solid premier league team and if you want that in the premier league then it comes with a cost. |  |

Agree a usual but if he came back now he would not have ML as the pulling power to close the deal. He would have fecking Bob instead. Most replies would be 'thanks but no thanks'.
It highlights a problem we now have in the new window. What players of quality would come here? Have we got the ability to identify them? Have we got any money to do any deals?
Same applies if Bob is shown the door. We are a complete basket case club now so what manager would take us on?

This is a complete non-story. The agent's fees were going to be paid regardless--if they didn't go to Tutumlu, then it was going to someone else. Frankly, I'm delighted that Tutu was the one who got the lion's share of the fees. He presided over our most successful period and was the one who brought in the players that made us play some of the most scintillating and aesthetically pleasing attacking football in Europe. If £3.6m was all that Tutumlu received for all that he provided us, then we should be fvcking grateful.
The thing is, we actually ended up paying MORE in agent's fees after Tutumlu left. By our own admission in fact. And not only we were paying more in fees, but we were buying players of a much, much lesser quality. The club published a statement in 2015 regarding how in the period after Laudrup and Tutumlu (October 2014 to September 2015), we spent £4.25m on agent's fees:

Actually we signed Marvin Emnes before Laudrup even left the club. It went downhill the moment Tutumlu was banned from the stadium. | | | |
