I agree with that. On the other hand I worry that a no vote will see the board chuck their toys out of the pram and sell to whoever, leaving us in a Steve Dale type situation. Rock Shareholders Hard place [Post edited 4 Aug 2023 22:20]

A very interesting thread. Those arguing for a no vote could well have a point. Those arguing for a yes vote could well have a point. With zero information I have absolutely no idea. Two questions I would like answered tonight are why do we need this money so urgently and what happens once the EGM happens, whether the vot goes yes or no. |

Interesting. My initial opinion was to vote no but slowly and surely the fear that a no vote will kill the club very quickly means I'm slowly moving to yes. If only I had all of the facts available to make an informed decision. |

Let us know how you get on. Everything I have done so far has been fruitless. Basics ..... Edit: I take that back. Seems a few of us fell off the distribution list. [Post edited 26 Jul 2023 23:35]

You would have thought that, at a time when the board want us to trust them, they would put a little more effort I to earning that trust. There are a lot of promises since they took over that have, unfortunately, been spectacularly missed. I want to trust and support the board but there are levels of incompetence and a lack of communication that make that very, very difficult. |

Definitely not, I live thousands of miles away and used the proxy last time. Unless they are wanting those who did that to be the last to get it. [Post edited 26 Jul 2023 14:17]

I didn't but have got all the previous ones from the club. Surely they use YAMM, Mailchimp or something similar rather than sending out bulk emails. |

My apologies TS. That does seem a logical suggestion but we already have trust involvement and things haven't yet improved significantly. Would further trust stuff do that? I hope so. As far as voting intentions goes, I think a no vote would potentially be more risky than a yes. |

Reading between the lines I guess. Very worrying times and happy to hear any suggestions. |

This isn't a dig at your post. The possibility of CD coming back seems currently dead in the water. If you are suggesting a no vote, what is the likely outcome of that when compared to a yes vote. Seems to me that the shareholders currently stuck between a rock and a hard place. [Post edited 25 Jul 2023 17:54]

Absolutely this with Lee Hodges. I am still far from over that. Honestly thought it would be the best signing we had every made. Have never been able to get really excited about a signing since. |

Cheers IKON sports were the rugby based suppliers who had an office at Spotland. Can't help but think the new investor needs to be someone with more knowledge of running a football club. Fingers crossed there is a happy ending to this story. |

Perhaps badly worded but so many of these saltaff that were here then have now gone. We've fallen out big style with Hornets (wherever the blame lies there) and IKON sports (think my spelling correct there), previous matchball/mathcday sponsors etc have found it difficult to talk to people at the club about gettin more boxes. Whether all this was intentional or just poor commercial management isn't something I know the answer to. Without doubt this board saved us from Morton House and that can never be forgotten. My own personal dealing with the club this year has shown those I dealt with to be very nice people. Sadly we do seem to have been missing commercial accumen and somebody to run things day by day though. Hopefully we get the investment we need and a few tweaks can leave this current board as a successful one. |

I think this pretty much sums up the state of things. The board undoubtedly saved us from disaster but their desire to cut all ties with everything that was linked to the previous regime has not helped at all. |

Very, very sad news. An absolute Dale legend over the years for many reasons. Was on very good form on Saturday. Give us an R. |

Now at Stalybridge alongside his brother. Saw them play be Morecambe a few weeks ago. His brother looked the better player. |

After seeing him a few times pre-season I fear that his injuries have left him a couple of yards off the pace. |

A true Dale fan died last Tuesday. Losing my dad hurt. He was a lurker on here rather than a poster but I'm sure some of you will know him or have seen him around. The club were brilliant and kindly announced his death and, in true Dale style, we couldn't hear it as the tannoy wasn't working in the Pearl Street. Being able to fly back to the UK and see a Dale win that keeps us safe was an appropriate way to honour him. Details of his funeral can be found at https://charlespeacock.muchloved.com/ |
