Stat on Sky tonight.
We have had a 110 corners so far this season and no goals, and to be fair not wishing to detract from a decent overall performance didn't really look like breaking this duck tonight. |  | | |  |

Absolutely not detracting from tonight the stat is for all season. We have in the past scored good goals from corners. And then there are things like the legendary Sheringham corner with the ball played to the corner if the box.

This, with either hit the first man defending or it flies straight out behind or other side of the field for a throw, they need to spend a couple of sessions a well practising set piece moves, as it is, at the moment it doesn't seem that we practice any set-piece plays. | |

You don’t have to play like a Pulis side to score from a corner. It’s set piece preparation and tactical implementation.

Among top leagues the average corners to goals rate is around 3-4%, with short corner routines tending to be slightly more successful than lumping it straight into the box. Sides set up to take advantage of set pieces may nudge that closer to 6 or 7% in a good year, but footballing sides tend to win more (Man City and Liverpool both with well over double Burnley's count so far this season).
Nothing from over 100 attempts is poor, just because we've not got many big lads on the pitch doesn't mean we shouldn't score a few goals. Stats say we've won 4.4 per game this season. Over 46 games that's 200 corners. 6-8 goals missing.

We had better seasons in the PL taking corners Mawson scored quite a few.

You would have thought the team would work on their set play deficiencies in training.
Not sure of the stats, but we seem to lose at least 50% of our throw ins as well. |  |

Would help if we stopped taking pointless short corners which come to nothing. Put the ball in the mixer because the odds over a season a defender will put the ball in the back of his own net and you will get decent ricochets from badly timed clearances etc. |  |
