This was a game where choosing anyone was almost impossible Not on Saints player excelled They looked leggy and almost dissinterested Despite that they managed to create 4 good chances Che one on one with the keeper again and again he fails to score He must have a mental block now He should have been replaced at half time and possibly replaced by Aribo who has the knack of scoring when it's bobbing about in the 6 yard box Sulemana in my book is a very quick talented player who used to beat defenders with his pace Now he seldom trys to take anyone on Is natural talent being coached out of him? This result probably makes the play offs the more likely route back to the prem Bawdrip added 20:08 - Mar 29 After missing so many great chances it felt inevitable that we'd concede right at the end. Should have won comfortably. The play off beckons unless we can somehow win the matches at Ipswich, Leicester and Leeds. I can see us doing OK in these matches but fear we'll continue to drop other points elsewhere. SaintPaulVW added 07:08 - Mar 30 Just don't seem able to capitalise on a period of good play. Seem to get a goal in front and then conspire to waste chance after chance. Will another PL team even want Adams on a free? Given our excellent crop of wingers why isn't Arma in the middle and one of them starting instead? Boris1977 added 08:56 - Mar 30 The only positive to come out of this match is that nick can recycle one of his previous verdicts. Bottom line is saint's are not good enough to get automatic promotion. I am seriously wondering if most of these players actually want to go up, as they know that they aren't nearly good enough for the Premier League and would surely be shipped on, one way or another! Staycalm added 10:39 - Mar 30 SanMarco added 11:09 - Mar 30 There is an old saying (just invented by me) that says "teams who couldn't be bothered to defend rarely get promoted". I fully accept that we could have been out of sight in the second half but sometimes in football you do enter the last couple of minutes one up. What you do then is defend properly and win. What you don't do is give a winger plenty of time to cross to a man in the box who has no defender within five yards of him. And let's face it that wasn't the only time we allowed them space and time. RM hasn't been the disaster that some (many?) predicted but I don't like this style of football. The open spaces in our defence are a sight to see, I don't often agree with Klopp but maybe we need another year in the second division to learn how to defend. We would get murdered playing this way in the Premier division. To play this way you need the resources to buy VERY technically accomplished players. There is an argument that 4th this season would be an underachievement. Might this squad have done better playing in a different way? PezzaSaint added 14:03 - Mar 30
