Poor old Gateshead have been denied their place in the national league playoffs because of their ground not being acceptable to the league. They’ve been playing there for years and nobody has complained. They get within a few games of entering the efl and they’re robbed of their chance of promotion. I certainly don’t think the stadium is any worse than the Withdean used to be.The usual stitch up of the smallest clubs by the authorities.
If they’ve got ten years on the lease why is that a problem? Surely at some point over the next ten years they can extend the lease or find somewhere else to play. Seems daft to me.
Couldn't they groundshare with Newcastle? Newcastle could nominate an extortionate fee and forget to insist that Gatedhead pay it, generating enough FFP headroom for them to buy Eze for £300m. Everybody wins.
