Former Dale keeper Sam Russell has signed for Wrexham after a successful trial spell with the North Wales club.
Russell had been without a club since leaving Dale at the end of last season, following losing his place at Spotland to on loan Frank Fielding.
It was revealed that he'd been training with Wrexham by Dale boss Keith Hill at the recent fans forum, and Russell played for them in a friendly against Wolves last night and against Huddersfield at the weekend.
That trial spell was made permanent on Wednesday when Russell signed a twelve month contract with the Blue Square Premier side. They had been linked with a loan move for young Liverpool keeper Dean Bouzanis, but that fell through, opening the door for Russell.
