LFW Weekend Championship Preview

LFW looks ahead to an exciting weekend's action in the Coca Cola Championship.

Welcome back to LFW Championship Preview and it is very much a case of normal service resumed, as Newcastle are back on the live screens. But you will have to wait until Monday evening to see the Toon Army's visit to Sheffield United, liveon Sky Sports. Matters off the pitch have dominated the headlines for Newcastle once again this week, but matters on the pitch are going very nicely for Chris Hugton's men, who are once again, top of the table. The other live game comes tomorrow night from Loftus Road as the in form and 7th placed, QPR, take on 5th placed Leicester at Loftus Road. LFW Preview of the game will be online soon...

Staying at the top and West Brom, who have been wobbling slighlty of late, take on a very good side on their travels, Watford, at The Hawthorns. Cardiff have moved above the Baggies into second place and have a tough looking home clash with Forest this weekend - this one kicks off at 5pm on Sunday evening, so it could be all change at the top once again on Saturday evening. Also in the top six are Middlesbrough, who start Gordon Strachan's reign in charge with a home game against struggling Plymouth - now that's a long old poke again for the travelling Green Army! (Sorry, couldn't resist...). In 6th spot, Bristol City look to extend their excellent home form and a 5 game unbeaten run, when they take on Sheffield Wednesday at Ashton Gate.

Elswhere and the in form Blackpool, travel to Doncaster, who went down narrowly at Newcastle last weekend, Preston take on Palace at Deepdale and now that their Carling Cup expolits ended at the hands of Man City, Scunthorpe have a home game with Swansea and have proved on more than one occasion, that they are a match for anyone on their own turf. Third from bottom Reading travel to the Ricoh Arena to take on Coventry and Ipswich, yes, still without a win, will certainly fancy their chances against Derby at Portman Road.

Moving onto next Tuesday it's the re arranged game between QPR and Crystal Palace at Loftus Road, which was originally and somewhat surprisingly, rained off back in September...
