Swansea City : Striker news from the Indy. Not fictional nonsense by the main stream media

Swansea City remain determined the bring in a talented striker before the end of the transfer window. Two identified players are being spoken to, one we believe could easily be the answer to the Swans issues this coming season.

Sources have indicated to us over the last two weeks the Swans have numerous players under discussion, and in some cases the representatives of these players are aware of the interest in them. That isn’t to say that Zăn Vipotnik isn’t in head coach, Alan Sheehan’s plans with him hoping the the Slovenian is cleared fit later today. The twenty three old has travelled with the squad after missing out on the last home friendly of the season v Lorient last weekend.

There’s no getting away from it that Inoussa and Eom are fifty fifty to start plus with the Vipotnik issue it’s not brilliant news on the first eleven front. Especially with Ben Cabango (below) seemingly out after a second scan and West Ham loanee, Kaelan Casey with only a days training under his belt. This opening game of the season won’t see the Swans anywhere near full strength, the top end of the team seems patchy and the attacking threat to create goals isn’t there. We have to say a point would be welcome now.

The Swans are not looking elsewhere for a striker as has been reported, they have already sufficient work done and are keen to look into securing a player amongst those identified as ‘good enough’ for the role. It has frustrated Swans fans but protracted talks are just that. Despite the talk around Richard Kone (Wycombe) and the fictitious offer for Yousef Erabi (Hammarby) the Swans have targets who we are told that are far better equipped to walk into an offensive role. The demand for this to happen quickly does come out of a concern for what the Swans have at the moment, but in time we believe fans will see that wait was very much worth it.

There’s no need for us to comment on Malick Yalcouye the Brighton youngster, to bring in a player of this quality will require some very hard work by the Swans. Premier League clubs are now releasing assets after analysing what they have and can put out for loans. In this players case many are saying he could be good enough for the first team already. That’s the quality Yalcouye brings.

For the fifth time this season Toulouse in France have been connected to the Swans rumoured transfer dealings. From there it’s easy to work out where this information is coming from, especially players who are written about by journalists who are ‘paid’ to do so. It’s a shocking state of affairs that column inches are preferred to the actual truth. Certain aspects of these reports contain all the information needed to smile after reading them. Erabi an example, but our regular readers will know there are so many more linked targets, none of whom are Swansea players and never will be. McBurnie was never bid for at all. Kone was the subject of an offer by the Swans then some caveats (not a second bid) ensued, the whole picture dominated by the fee the Swans were prepared to put down on the player, not the value of the player. The four and a half million pounds bid was incredibly wrong, absolutely no truth in that at all. Lump sum transfers are a thing of the past. It’s all about spreading payments across the length of an offered contract, the Swans wouldn’t go near a lump sum of that amount.

We believe the striker targeted will be with the Swans soon, but please don’t think it’s going to be tomorrow, that just won’t happen. Yousef Erabi is your latest warning sign, one which surely people are beginning to see through ? And possibly start challenging the authors of this fictional reporting ?
