Non QPR help needed
at 19:32 12 Jun 2024

Not sure size and scale of your firm but I have worked for big / mid tier firms for over 15 years

Usually 3 options

1) They book your travel for trains and any cabs from station need to be reclaimed via expenses with a receipt with line manager signing it off before going to Finance

2) You book all travel etc and claim via expenses

3) Company policy is set for petrol for example 50p per mile print out via route planner plus receipt from petrol station via expenses

Definitely chase up you shouldn’t be out of pocket

Good luck

I love and I mean love Loftus Road

When things have been going badly in my life I can go and spend two hours there, forget about everything and for that time nothing else matters

I can tell you who made the passes for certain goals I can recount obscure moments and I can give blow by blow accounts of random games I’ve watched

It was was, as others have said held up as the modern arena in the early 80’s concerts, Boxing etc

I love it and taking my boy was a proper proud dad moment

I’m 6”3 and leg room is sketchy the kiosks sell awful food and we are unable to
maximize revenues in other ways

I think at some point we will inevitably have to move but I hope the essence can be kept

30k tight to the pitch and not some soulless bowl

If that doesn’t happen has anyone thought about buying the houses behind Ellersille Road or the School or maybe just digging down? 🤔

100% agree that Wembley is not great getting in and out of it’s a bit like Millwall away where they try to herd you to the station even if that’s not where you want to go to (always aim for Preston Road not Wembley itself)

The way Wembley is set up is poor and the Health and Safety bloke on the documentary was a complete clown they need to have a serious review of how they can potentially do things better

Possibly the biggest amount of Sh!t ever posted

I watched it the other night after reading this thread and I’ll be honest it was thoroughly depressing

I’ve been home and away with England before went to Euro 2000 away for the Germany game and have never been away with England since. Was in Charleroi Water cannons, tear gas the whole lot and I have no interest in that rubbish I’m there for a few beers and to watch the football supporting my team

Most England fans are fairly sound but there is a decent amount who are complete loons who are only interested in behaving like complete morons, shoving as much gear up their nose as they can and generally behaving in a totally inappropriate way. Reputation does proceed England and unfortunately the decent fans get tarred with the same brush

I’ve taken my 8 year old (who isn’t named Hugo and im certainly not posh) to a couple of the recent friendlies Brazil being the last one) tickets are reasonably priced and he gets to see some top players.Whether he is posh or not as a kid do you think he should have to walk through bottles being lobbed in the air and smashing, or maybe traffic cones coming down with a thud as he is talking about who might be playing, perhaps watching people generally behaving like f@cking tw@ts and sniffing gear all over the shop is maybe a good thing in your eyes?

I’ve done 100’s of Rangers games down the years my boy comes in the pub he knows there’s gonna be bad language and he’s not to repeat it and I would never want football to be sanitized to the point of you may as well watch it at home,it’s the atmosphere the thrill of a Jimmy Dunne last minute winner etc but you are seriously condoning that behavior as some posh people moaning?

Give your head a wobble

De Zerbi....
at 19:46 18 May 2024

When Marti was linked with Sunderland and Hull I said there is no chance of him going to either but if someone like De Zerbi left I’d be more worried

Brighton under Bloom have lots of long lists in every department from the Tea Lady to the strikers and these change regularly

Marti will be on their long list I’m sure. Has managed within Europe has managed in European competitions has experience of English football has left every club he has been at in a better state.

That was basically Potters CV before he got the job

He might not be number 1 but he will have been discussed

I’d love to see Kolli succeed we all love a kid coming through from the Youth Team and establishing themselves as a first teamer

Another reason I’d like to see him succeed is that he seems like a great kid

My lad was mascot for the Sunderland game early in the season as the players walked off after the warm up they do a pic with all the mascots before going to get changed

My lad was front and centre of the pic and was given a ball to hold as part of the pic, Kolli was one of if not the last one to go in after he’s done his pic before going down the tunnel the following happened

RK What’s your name?
PBlock Junior Charlie
RK Chuck me the ball Charlie (throws him the ball) let’s see how good you are

Proceeds to have a 30 second to a minute kick about just him and Charlie

RK You’re a great player!!

Charlie literally bursting with pride. His whole day (apart from the result) was fantastic but that act of allowing a little lad to have a kick about on Loftus Road with a QPR player will always make me want him to succeed even more

Marti in my opinion wouldn’t touch the Hull job or Sunderland job with a 10 ft barge pole

He is managing a club in one of the best Cities in the world loved by the fans and has a real feel for the club and what he wants to do you aren’t gonna swop that for Hull or Sunderland

My brother and I were chatting after the Leeds game and he said (and I agree) if someone like De Zerbi left Brighton Marti is the sort of profile that appeals to them. European experience left every club he has been at in a better position he is on their long list I reckon I’d be more concerned around that than what’s being suggested

Strangest (but true) encounters with Rs players, past or present
at 10:45 3 May 2024

Random one

Working in the Wetherspoons in Southend while at college around 1998/99

Bloke comes in and I think that’s Brian Morris (QPR physio at the time) came in ordered a small red and some food

Started chatting and said the reserves were at Southend that night had a good chat then left him alone he gets up and leaves then reappears 5 mins later and asks if I wanted a full set first team training kit ((Le Coq Sportiff)

Top man

I loved him

I’m early 40’s so Bannister Ferdinand were my first hero’s but I remember the year under Warnock. I’d just started going out with a girl (now my wife) and often she’s ask what we were doing on the weekend and the answer was anything after 6pm on Saturday unless she fancied coming to Rangers (she did a few times to be fair)

Generational talent worth the admission fee on his own

Was one the table names at our wedding

There will be another player to capture our imagination Eze did it, let’s just hope the next one is on his way

Midweek Sausage Mash Peas Gravy and Onions

Both followed up by beers in The Bush Ranger

Simpler times that I remember fondly

The Italian on the Uxbridge road given a shout further up was also decent

I think Critchley was dealt a bit of a poor hand to be fair

Had a half decent track record but the players seemingly downed tools for him especially after he quite rightly slammed them after a couple of very poor performances

Ainsworth wanted to do well here, we wanted him to do well here but it didn’t happen and he left a bit of a mess (not all of his own making)

Marti from the moment he has come in has inspired a bit of confidence I really hope we stay up and he gives it a season to see what he can do looking at his record elsewhere he has left clubs he has managed in a better position than when he took them over if we have a good season next year and a bigger job comes up for him then although disappointing we have to get the recruitment right to replace

Marsh leaves replaced by Stan not a problem

Les leaves replaced by Hateley, unmitigated disaster

If people come to QPR and go to bigger things that’s good as it means we are doing well it’s the recruitment piece that remains the key

The lot from SW6 might not be in breach right now but they have come forward (painted into a corner and had to do something) and have indicated they may have a couple of skeletons in the closet (it’ll be a cemetery) but they have offered this up as it was under the old regime and they want to be helpful

They are up to their neck in it

Stan Bowles
at 19:43 25 Feb 2024

Stan was before my time but I have seen the footage and have been told stories by others about just how good he was

Many great tributes on here from those that were lucky enough to see him

For me if you look at other clubs message boards many fans are saying what a genius he was and how he was their favourite “other team” player, that is a huge tribute. They all wanted a swashbuckling maverick who could get you off your seat and play to the gallery, but lucky for us for the prime of his career he was ours

My mates Dad loved Stan, he would’ve been late teens nearly 20 during 75/76 and Stan was his hero. Anyway sometime early mid 90’s we were walking to the game and Stan was walking along my mates dad ran like Usain Bolt to meet his hero and someone happened to have a camera so he managed to get a pic of him and the great man smiling together he was walking on air all the way home. So a few weeks later I go round my mates house and walk into the front room now ever since I had known him on top of the Telly was a pic from his Mum and Dads wedding day and pic of him and his two brothers

Not anymore his dad had got the picture framed and replaced the pictures of his wedding day to his wife of now nearly 50 years and his 3 son and heirs

The man was adored by many and will be missed, but not forgotten

Go well Stan the Man
