Austria had everything but the final pass and finish and I've not seen France made to work like that for a long time. How good is Kante still though? Just immense for France. |

Well now the dust has settled I thought the defence played well. Bellingham is different class. Saka was excellent first half. I really didn't know where Fodin was meant to be playing and nor did Foden. Trent-Arnold didn't quite click. Kane was isolated until he dropped deeper. We dropped way too deep second half.
But, defensively I thought we were well organised but that left flank is a worry. |

Yes I'd be surprised and disappointed if he went to Sunderland. I can see him moving on at the end of next season if a better offer comes in but I would hope that he wants to show what he can do at this level, because his stock can only go higher if we make top 10 this coming season. Or as you say, he perhaps falls totally in love with us and does name his children Stan and Rodney, even if they're both girls! |

It would be good to know where the club stands on his future. There does seem to be a lot more going on with this lad that we perhaps don't know about and who knows what the situation is regarding any insurance etc that the club may have in place regarding his circumstances? |

After Beale turned down Wolves I said he wouldn't be going anywhere and weeks later he was off so what do I know? I would be very surprised if Marti jumped ship. I think he has a lot to prove here to show what he can do when he's not coming into a basket case team. Let's face it his stock is going to be much higher if he gets us a top 10 finish this year and even higher if we make the play offs. |

I guess it is a question of if he is contracted for another year we either try and tie him down or sell him for something in the new year, rather than watch him walk away right now for nothing anyway.
On a plus note, hopefully under Marti he continues to improve. I love his attitude, I love his passion for playing but he still needs to prove that he really can score goals regularly or be the kind of player that can create chances for others. I think the jury is out on whether he can be as good as we all hope he can be.
But good that he is here for now. |

I think he's become a great player at this level but I doubt he would want a return here. He wasn't very happy at the club the first time so that would be a factor, even with the draw of Marti. |

Such a complete tragedy. One of my absolute favourite presenters and evidently one of the really good guys in life. Totally baffled why he decided to take on a walk like that in that heat and without a phone or anything. And on his birthday. RIP. |
