QPR draw Burnley in FA Cup Sunday, 30th Nov 2008 14:15 Paulo Sousa's first taste of the FA Cup will come against Burnley on the first weekend in January. Burnley are currently fourth in the Championship after a 3-0 win against Derby at Turf Moor on Saturday. They have already played, and beaten, QPR this season - winning 2-1 at Loftus Road just four games ago. The sides have met twice in the FA Cup before, both at Turf Moor and both resulting in Burnley wins. The Clarest won 4-2 in 1920/21 and 6-1 in 1961/62. Here's hoping there's no repeat of that when this tie is played on Saturday January 3. It's a really awakward little tie this for Rangers. Burnley are the best team to have come to Loftus Road so far this season but don't represent much of a draw for spectators so Rangers face a potential early exit in front of a low crowd. Normally at this stage of the competition you would be looking for a team you can easily beat at home or a money spinning tie with a premiership side and this is neither. Elsewhere there were few other eyecatching draws although Liverpool's trip to Preston, Derby's visit to non-league side Forest Green and Aston Villa's away game at either Stockport or Gillingham will probably catch the eye of television companies looking for a giant killing. Histon's reward for their hilarious victory against Leeds is a home draw with Swansea City. Photo: Action Images Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
