MBengue ban?

It's 37 games if the player accrued five yellows before the first cut off which Mbengue did.

No, he's on nine league bookings. The cutoff for a two game ban for ten yellows is game 37.

No. Only yellow cards in league games count towards a ban in the league. It changed a couple of seasons ago.

Swapped with Don Masson, primarily because we realised we dropped a bollock by letting Dave Thomas go and was signed as a replacement, at the same time though we lost Masson's superb passing ability in the middle of the park .

The move suited neither party, neither really settled, Masson was unhappy at Derby (probably contributed to his poor form at the '78 World Cup) and within a year or so both were back at their spiritual homes of Notts County & Burnley.

Souness or as Brian Moore and other commentators at the time pronounced it - Sou (to rhyme with cow) ness.

West hams ground....

We actually had three seasons there, two in the early 1930s and 62/63.

In 62/63 we averaged just over 10,000. We had some decent crowds early on (18,000 against Hull in October) but by the last few games they were down to 5,000ish and the last home game against Coventry only 3,261 turned up.

Yes he did.

Seems amazing that we were playing in this and then the FA Cup semi final was three days later! Unthinkable now.

That Palace v Mecca Result
at 22:42 12 Jan 2026

In 2002-03: PL = 20 teams, Div 1, 2 & 3 = 24 teams
When we got knocked out we were 6th in Division 2 (50th)
https://www.11v11.com/league-t

VMFC were in the Northern Premier League which at the time was one division below the Conference which for that season had 22 teams. VMFC ended up 3rd so presuming they were somewhere near the top when we played them so 18+24+22+3

Roughly 67 places.

I think Stow meant salt and grit for the dugout areas to melt the ice, not the pitch.

Will surely be played at Heston unless there's some ruling about playing FA Youth Cup ties on training ground pitches.
