As you say, if you have the bubble, there really isn't a need to have quite so many officers standing around outside. |

1) Annoying that we all received emails telling us we had to board the coach an hour before departure. There was no need for that, and we ended up having to wander around for half an hour, as we didn't need to be on the coach that early. When we did all board the coach, we still waited around. Despite saying we had to sit down in the unlicensed areas, nobody did and it wasn't enforced. 2) The atmosphere I thought was very loud at times. I was right next to the Pompey support and there was a lot of "hateful exchanges". It was hostile, in that our players were spat at and pulled around whenever they took a throw in. Were the Pompey players spat at, and pulled about when they came to St Mary's? 3) It was a hateful, hostile place. The two pitch invaders were full of hate for us, when we were one nil up. The Pompey fans were getting more and more angry until they equalised. One of our fans threw some crutches at him, and it hit the ball boy instead. 4) At the end seats were being ripped out and thrown in both directions. The toilets were smashed up. 5) The game had a derby feel to it, players squaring up to each other and both teams desperate not to lose. I really enjoyed it. A proper derby that should have been shown on Sky Sports main channel rather than the woman's game. [Post edited 26 Jan 18:33]

The f@cking red button. I see they showed the women's game on the main sports channel instead and this famous English derby had to be banished to the red button!!! Talk about forcing the women's game on people, when that gets shown ahead of a men's famous English rivalry that mkst of the country wanted to watch. [Post edited 25 Jan 22:52]

That's true. I was happy that lot didn't beat us. But Tonda has to get us in the top 6 or surely he will be sacked. |

Having been at the game, I am not overly disappointed. We didn't lose. It was a bear pit. A really fierce atmosphere. Would have loved to have returned to St Mary's with a victory to celebrate, but just didn't want to get beat by that lot. We held our own and stood up to the battle. A great derby, I thought having been there. A couple of pitch invaders, a goal to celebrate, lots of hate from the stands, real tension, players having a scrap, a few objects thrown from.the stands. It was as fierce as they say. Shame.not to.win, but the f@ckers didn't beat us. [Post edited 25 Jan 20:35]

It wasn't completely convincing but we did ground out a result and it was a more entertaining game. Sheffield united should have got an equaliser at the end, but it was a fresher performance, more energy, and much better than we have had recently but not outstanding or anything like that. |

Yes, by playing forwards instead of sideways! We were only poor because we kept going sideways and backwards with a back 5. Tonight, all the goalkicks were up the field, and we won. If you attack the oppositions's goal you win! Long may it continue. |

Saints played 4 4 2, a goal kick went up the field instead of to a defender, they stopped the tippy tappy ineffective passing , got the ball forward and just played the game, instead of sticking to a theory. Who would have thought that crosses in the box and forward passes enabled us to win a game 🫢 |

It's happening at a lot of clubs. Football isn't what it used to be. Who wants to go out in the cold on a Monday night for a meaningless game, for a load of stoppages for VAR, when you can watch on tv? |

Norwich have appointed an experienced manager, who won a title as a manager. He looks like a "boss" and has had success. He knows how to win leagues and win games. Great appointment for them [Post edited 20 Jan 22:44]

Two reasons in my opinion. Reason one - The opposition have now worked us out. Nobody knew Tonda and what his tactics were in the first few games. It was a mystery to the opposition. After a few games they have worked out Tonda's tactics and know he is a one trick pony. They know he was playing the same way in every game. He only knows how to play in one way. The opposition press high, fill the space in front of our back 5, so that we can't pass out from the back anymore. We can't go long because we don't have a striker up there to hold it up. We have been worked out. Reason two - This is unknown, we can't prove this but for me is likely. The players wanted Tonda. They obviously liked him at the time, an easy going friend inside the club, who they knew would be easy to play under. They knew his calm, quiet personality and thought better to have him than a disciplinarian. The players also wanted to prove to the board that Will Still was the wrong man. Our captain Stephens clearly went to the board about Still as the rumours suggested. It was him. So the players wanted to prove their point. So they played out of their skin to get him the job. Now he has the job, they know that they can just relax and take their pay packet. They know Tonda is not a force to be reckoned with. They are just taking it easy. Hence the rumours that some of these players are difficult , trouble makers etc. Overall though, experience really matters. Some.of us were tricked in Tonda's first few games. An experienced manager always knows more than a young inexperienced one. An experienced doctor is always better than a novice fresh out of medical school. It won't ever change but SR want a yes man every time. [Post edited 18 Jan 23:52]

It's Solak and the company he leads. He is at the top. He has employed numerous senior staff who all do the same thing, making the same mistakes. After the Will Still debacle, Solak should have intervened and appointed an experienced manager. He is ultimately to blame. He has allowed all the appointments below him. [Post edited 17 Jan 23:07]

Yes, Saint22 knows more than Tonda. We should not be playing 5 at the back in a home game, and with 3 defenders, we still concede a hatful. So we should play 442 and be on the front foot, rather than this tippy tappy rubbish. [Post edited 17 Jan 22:44]

Our defence is terrible. Mark Robins has them very well organised at Stoke. Wilder will outdo Tonda on Wednesday. |

It's absolutely astonishing Saintmark and it shows what a shambles this club has become. Too young, Too inexperienced, a yes man we said. And it's not difficult to predict. Managers who have never played the game, never managed before or both are well out of their depth, not respected and surprise surprise they don't know what they are doing. We will do a Luton and be relegated to League one with this lot in charge. Lots of chants against SR today, but still some people just sat there and a few clapping half arsed performances. Do.they enjoy smiling and clapping after another defeat? Do they not care or are they just day trippers or Pompey fans? Why say well done to.utter failure?. The protest need to ramp up. Amd f@ck.me, how terrible was our new goalkeeper!!! |
