I agree with you on Smyth. If he left, we may miss him but you'd expect that or why was he here in the first place?

We have enough players for his position so if the club feels it's best to let him go and he wants a different opportunity, fair enough. I'm sure most would wish him the very best. I certainly would.

Kone goal
at 17:19 21 Dec 2025

He received the ball where he does best; centrally in the opposition's penalty area. That's where he should play. Burrell can buzz around the place, still score goals and provide assists as he did twice yesterday. Kone, however, needs to be the lead striker.

Hear, hear, gentlemen. Andy has been a constant source of pride for us. He's richly earned his rest.

January transfer rumours
at 16:15 18 Dec 2025

Just putting this Tylon Smith interview here - https://www.espn.co.uk/espn/st - for those who feel we should sign Ronnie Edwards next month. As I and a number of posters have said, we need to start giving our most promising youngsters some first team playing time. The article hints Smith might get some minutes.

As good as reports have been about Murphy Cooper's loans, I remain unsure if he'd make it in the Championship. There must be a reason why he's repeatedly been farmed out on loan.

I don't think we've had this yet: "Roooooooooodneeeeeeeeeee". The greatest chant I've ever heard at LR.

Players with great starts who then wobbled
at 16:06 17 Dec 2025

Have to give the legend that is Samba Diakite a mention. Okay he was more wobble than great, but it could be argued that it depends on how you look at it. To be sent off 30 minutes into his debut was pretty amazing. As was scoring against Arsenal in a win against them.

Alas, the club shipped him out on loan to Watford and then Ittihad to reduce the death toll of our opponents. Still, it was entertaining while it lasted.

Strange you should mention Harry Roberts as it was announced that he died a few days ago.

So Cifuentes ?

Di Canio's football was never dull. It was real gung ho stuff that was entertaining if not always effective. We wanted him to stay but he had to leave for personal reasons never fully explained.

I think Dillon has great potential too. His loan at Enfield Town was extended to the end of January.

So Cifuentes ?

I get your point about that Cifuentes has useful knowledge about the squad, but he won't know everything. There are likely to be 4 or 5 players in the 11 with whom he didn't work, plus Madsen is a different player from last season. They are not his team now.

After being something of a boo boy in the 60s, Mick Leach turned it around as well. He was a QPR player until '78 and so was part of the best QPR sides.
