All the makings of a reenactment of the Rotherham/Bolton bottom two consecutive 1-2 home defeats in 18/19.

If this lot have sussed us and get a result then we’re really in for a troublesome round 2 of the season.

I thought Madsen again. His crisp passing and ability to quickly find a blue and white shirt even in performances like yesterday is like an oasis in a very big desert.

The rest was utter bilge.

Taylor Richards gone…thank god.

well… worth a comment on the basis of how on earth has he found a way to stay in professional football.

Mind you, Crawley have form on stupidity, didn’t they put DJ Mark Wright on the wing for a brief period.

If that happened I’d be head of the queue for a front row sheet.Even more attractive if they raised it six feet.

It looked like a farmers field waiting for some new crops to go in.

Chaotic team selection, chaotic outcome as R's slip at West Brom - Report
at 10:43 1 Jan 2026

Great report and happy new year.

The Northern line rant made me laugh. 293 bus runs all the way from Morden to Epsom which meant if I fell asleep on either train or bus someone at the end of the line was guaranteed to wake me from my drunken stupor.

Anyway, a little tip to get through that journey, typically on the way back from central London, I used to play a game of guess which Clapham a random girl would get off the train. Balham tends to be the spanner in the works on occasions, but I got remarkably good at it and it passed the time away on what seems an endless journey.

Obviously, take care, these days that might be construed as an arrestable offence.

Two home games against the bottom two - Six points ???
at 08:25 31 Dec 2025

Think in an earlier thread I voted 4 points over the 4 holiday games, I’ll stick to that, so win one lose one.

Will be interesting to see how Round 2 goes, can’t help worrying that oppositions will have sussed the glaring weakness in trying to win without possession.

It’s frightening how Dixon Bonner was given grace here for a prolonged period but can’t even get a game at a team down the bottom of the National League.

Esquerdinha and his usage

Think the consensus is, not ready for this level and inclined to agree.

Horrible stats; 7 games, 2 wins, 5 defeats, goals for 10, goals against 20!

That said, I’d question how the manager is using him, he’s been flung into many games where, if anywhere in this league, there was a fair chance we could get a proper spanking.

We’ve got RND who looks the part, why play the young lad at Coventry, Boro, WBA, Ipswich?

He should be out on loan, hard to see what he’s gaining from this other than an inferiority complex.

JS needs a geography lesson.

First thing I learnt at secondary school was if you go t’up North with only one defender who can head the ball you get fooked over.

I got a B grade in my GCE so I know these things.

Dunne rescues QPR from more Boxing Day blues – Report
at 20:48 28 Dec 2025

Think you hit the nail on the head.

We really struggle with controlling games. When we come up against sides who are either better than us or presume to be, it tends to suit us. When we play those at the bottom end and consequently expected to hold the bulk of possession we get in a right state and don’t really know how to set about it.

Oxford, both sheffields, Pompey, Norwich has seen the worst of us and it looks as if we lack purpose in those games.

We need to break that bizarre statistic where we only win out of possession.

Saito/West Brom
at 14:43 27 Dec 2025

Frey did ok for us, he just doesn’t fit into the formation we play now.

Regards Saito, been poor recently. Problem is, Chair aside, who is any good on the wide left position? Vale looked uncomfortable over there, Dembele and Smyth don’t like it either, Poku also a no-no.

Unlike LFW we’ve got loads on the right but very few on the left.

Could we go up.
at 20:03 26 Dec 2025

35 points at the half way stage is admirable. Looking at today’s table I think 6th place will be consistent with the pace set so far, 72 points or above should get a team in the play offs.

If Southampton or Leicester have a resurgence, maybe that number will go up, but otherwise we have as good a chance as anyone.

Good old Jimmy, got us out of a hole.

Thought the front four were poor. Lethargic from start to finish.

Madsen once again excellent.

Anyone with pink boots in the Championship should have them stuffed up his arse.

Disgusting display. The issue when the the front four aren’t showing or competing for the ball is what we see here, continually on the back foot.

Has Dembele touched the ball yet?
