Fiorentina youngster signs for QPR

QPR have today completed the first part of what is expected to be a double raid on Serie A side Fiorentina, taking one of their most promising young players on loan for the 2008/09 season

Strikers Samuel Di Carmine is the latest addition to Iain Dowie’s squad with just over a month to go until the start of the season.and he is expected to be followed to London by team mate Matthias Lepiller

Di Carmine, 19, was born in Florence and made his debut for his home town club back in October 2006 as a sub in a 1-0 win at Torino in Serie A. The 6ft 2ins target man made a further sub appearance in a 2-0 victory against Udinese and scored his first goal for the club in the UEFA cup against Swedish outfit IF Elfsborg – Di Carmine got the final goal in a 6-1 hammering after coming on as a sub with ten minutes to go.

Manager Iain Dowie said: "Samuel is a young striker with potential, he leads the line well and uses his body very well for someone so young."
