Clough Concedes No Confidence In Commons Contract!

With the persistent rumours that both Rangers and Celtic are still chasing Kris Commons it got even worse when Nigel Clough admitted he is no longer sure if the player will sign again with the Rams.

Yesterday RamZone reported that if Kenny Miller successfully completes his transfer to Turkish side Bursaspor, then Rangers will use the cash from that deal to attempt to prise Commons away from the Rams.

While Celtic had been planning to wait in the wings and snap Kris up on a free transfer at the end of his contract but Rangers interest may force their hand.

Even though it is believed that the latest offer from the Rams met Commons wage demands it seems the player is still playing his cards close to his chest and keeping his options open.

Nigel Clough sounded a lot less confident than he did last week when speaking to the DET:

"It has swung several ways in the previous few weeks and I wouldn't like to guess the outcome at this point".

"We were hoping it was getting closer (to being signed) but negotiations can all of a sudden take a twist or turn and set things back. I think after Saturday's game it will get sorted, one way or another."

The longer it goes on, the more worrying it becomes. Whether it is a Scottish club or a last minute bid from a Premiership club looking for goals, this one will go down to the wire and cost Rams fans more of their already dwindling finger nails!
