Refwatch Preview: Brentford (h)

With Brentford visiting Spotland at the weekend, we bring you the lowdown on Saturday's match official - Andy Hall of Birmingham.

One of the longest serving referees on the Football League list will be in charge of Dale’s promotion clash with Brentford this weekend.

Andy Hall has been a league official since 1997 and Saturday will mark his tenth Dale game, the last of which came in April when he was in the middle for the 3-0 defeat of Barnet.

One of his most notable Dale matches came in December 2003 when we lost 2-0 at home to Luton in the FA Cup.

Mr Hall awarded the Hatters two penalties, one of which was missed, although the game will be remembered more for Michael Simpkins’ fall out with someone in the WMG Stand.

The full list of Andy’s previous Dale games is:

So far this season he has refereed 21 games, showing 73 yellow cards and three red, two of them being shown to Chester players in their recent 3-0 defeat at Port Vale.

Ten of his yellow cards came in the game between Tranmere and Oldham in September.
