Saints have a trip to Leeds United to look forward to in the last 16 of the Capital One Cup, noty the easiest of draws, but still a good chance of progress.
A trip to Elland Road is still daunting as Everton just found out and as we experienced last season when we were absolutely battered yet still came away with a win thanks to some great goalkeeping by Kelvin Davis who had his best ever game for the club.
lthough a home tie would have been more preferable, this is still a great chance to progress if we put out a half decent side, although the focus so far in this competition has been on fringe players getting a game, with a Quarter Final place at stake, a good chance of winning it and of course the fact that with helsea drawing Man Utd at least one of the favourites has to go out, surely we shouldnt look a gift horse in the mouth and make every effort to win this competiton with the attendant day out at Wembley and uropa League qualification.
