Going....going...going....but Bates isn't gone....yet

Will this really be "takeover Thursday" despite an organisation called Gulf Finance House announcing they had signed an "exclusive agreement" to broker the purchase Leeds United, the Bates propaganda machine remains silent!

An announcement made in the early hours UK time to the Bahrain stock exchange, GFH capital announced the exclusive agreement to broker the purchase of United had been signed. The frenzy was further stoked when GFH's CEO David Haigh, a self-confessed Leeds fan tweeted "Good morning everyone. Thanks for your messages of support. They are very important to us #lufc"

The full announcement stated that GFH had "signed an agreement" to lead the acquisition of Leeds City Holdings Ltd, the parent company of LUFC.

The Leeds United Supporters Trust welcomed the statement calling it "great news" and describing what has been a "long, long summer" for Leeds fans, with the first statement confirming Leeds were in talks with potential investors in late June

What followed was a summer of silence and just 48 hours ahead of the season opener with Wolves, the gloomy rumours that the deal had collapsed were abound. However Mr Haigh and his colleagues were seen in the Directors box for the Wolves win and also witnessed our more recent triumphs over Notts Forest and Everton.

Bates has always said that if and when the deal is done we will find out first on LUFC.com or Yorkshire Radio. Despite the excitement today's GFH Capital announcement has brought to the streets of LS11 I will hold Bates to his word and not fully believe it until it appears on his propaganda machine....even though I am 99.99% certain it is happening at long last!
