Swans Line Up For Their Pre-Season Photo Shoot

Home >Story Index> Photo Shoot Day At The Vetch

An overcast day at the Vetch saw the squad in a more informal atmosphere and it was noticeable to someone looking in from the outside that a good team spirit has been formed amongst Nick Cusack's squad and this is something that will help as the new season approaches.
With all the summer signings on show, it was a much different squad to the one that lined up this time last year and the return to Black and White colours looked so right. The Vetch has undergone extensive painting work during the close season and all the volunteers have done a sterling job in making it look much better and a big thanks should go from the fans to these people who have given up their time.
The players first appeared in the new club suits of all black which we understand were provided by Burtons. All Black gives you a kind of spooky feel and you half expect them to be sponsored by the mafia or something similar as they line up in these suits. They then disappeared again to get changed into the new strips and pose for the traditional team and individual photo shoots.
Several of last season's squad look in better shape than they did last season and Nick and Alan Curtis have to be commended for this and this again gives extra hope that we have a good season lying ahead of us.
The photo shoot is a traditional part of the pre-season build up although I would suggest from a players point of view it is the least favourite part of it and with the game against Steaua Bucharest tomorrow night at the Vetch you would suggest that thoughts immediately turned to that as I would expect us to gain a good insight into the season's starting line-up from that particular game. With the first game against Rushden and Diamonds just 10 days away let's bring on the football season.
