Beadle Apologises To All At Newport

Newport Manager Apologies For Behaviour

Newport manager Peter Beadle has apologised to everyone at Newport County for his actions which led to him being dismissed from the dug out on Saturday - an incident which led up to the striking of fourth official Alan Sheffield with a coin.

Beadle had protested long and hard to the fourth official about the free kick which led to Swansea's second goal and eventually it was deemed enough to alert the referee who, after consultation, decided he had no option but to send him to the stands.

Beadle had said after the game "I don't think I contributed to what happened," he said "I didn't see the incident because I was walking off the pitch. I was unhappy about the free kick they got for their second goal and I was sent off for asking a question of the fourth official. I am very passionate about my team and sometimes it overspills but it was not nice what happened."

However, he issued this statement yesterday afternoon via the Newport official web site which read

I'd like to apologise to the board of directors, players and supporters of Newport County Football Club for my actions and behaviour at the game yesterday. On the biggest game in the club's recent history, I let not only myself and my family but my football club down. My behaviour was wholly unacceptable and it is my duty to set an example to all of the club. I accept totally responsibility for my actions and I'll will accept any punishment that is forthcoming. Since my arrival my desire has been purely for the success of Newport County Football Club and I hope that the board will continue to give me their total support and let me continue in my position as manager of the club. Beads

Newport will soon find out what punishment that they face from the FAW who are awaiting the referee's official report.
