Carlisle: Managers React

Swansea 5 Carlisle 0 - The Managers React

Jackett: That Was Our Best

Kenny Jackett was the cat that got the cream after watching his side defeat Carlisle 5-0 at the Liberty Stadium in their best performance of the season and their biggest win of 2006.

Goals from Lawrence, Fallon (2), Robbo and Pratley gave the Swans all three points but it could have easily been more had it not been for Westwood in the visitors goal. Speaking after the match Jackett said "You always look for the win first and foremost, but to win in the way we did is very pleasing. "We entertained the crowd and and if it wasn't for thier goalkeeper I certainly feel it could have been more. "It's hard to say why it clicked but I certainly thought Kevin Austin kept their forward quiet and that was a good solid platform. "But to be honest, this was probably the best we've played from start to finish this season. "We're back in the top six and that's where we want to be and where we want to stay. We passed the ball well and always looked capable of scoring. "I'm not really sure why it clicked so well but if I could bottle it and recapture it another day I would because when we play like that we are capable of beating most sides."

Opposite number Neil McDonald was, strangely enough, not quite as happy but gave full credit to the Swans "This is probably one of the best sides we've played - and we were taught a lesson. "We had been hit by injuries and a few late withdrawals but I can't take too much away from Swansea because they were top class - they were a cut above. "And of course I'm worried now about our confidence because they were low in the dressing room - but we've been through it before and we'll have to stick it out."
