Pablo Counago could be a Swans player by early next week, after Ipswich Town accepted a renewed offer from the club
The Spaniard, who scored twice for the Tractor Boys against us in the 2-2 draw at Portman Road and 10 times in total last season, is set for contract talks with Paulo Sousa and Huw Jenkins over the next few days.
Earlier this week, sources suggested that Counago was being lined up as a replacement for Jason Scotland, who's joined Wigan for £2m.
Also being linked with a move to the Liberty is Fiorentina frontman Samuel di Carmine and Southampton's Polish striker Marek Saganowski.
But it looks like the Swans will be adding to their Spanish contingent by signing Counago, and he could make his debut as early as next Saturday in the home friendly against Almeria.
