It's now been confirmed that Stephen Dawson has signed a one year contract with Dale.
The signing will come as no surprise to Dale fans. We came close to signing him following his stint at Bury when he was a resident in the town, and he was signed by Keith Hill during his time at Barnsley where he made Dawson captain.
By all accounts he's been training with us for the past few weeks, and he's been at both of our home games so far. He even came to the Player of the Year evening in April to help celebrate promotion with us.
The 28 year old Irishman is best played as a central midfielder, and is noted for his stamina and his leadership. Well that's what wikipedia says.
