Who Is Your Favourite Player From The LIberty Years?

We asked a simple question via Social Media on Sunday in terms of 'who is your favourite player from the Liberty years' and have taken the top answers from that particular question to turn it into a poll here to get the definitive answer from the online Swans fans

There were more than 150 nominations that came in but five were mentioned far more than any others and I am not sure that there are any real surprises in the final five but who would get your vote as your favourite player.

Let's have a look at the nominations:

LEON BRITTON

A Swansea legend without a doubt. Leon's association with the club goes back until the end of 2002 when he first signed on loan from West Ham. Since then he has played in all four divisions for the club in his time here and has consistently performed at the highest end of his abilities. He has never been one to let us down and has always been a fans favourite. Goals aren't one of his special commodities but when he scores them we love them and he firmly deserves his place in the final five.

LEE TRUNDLE

Few who saw him play will ever forget what Lee Trundle bought to the club. The current board are rightly so credited with the work they have done to raising the club through the leagues but for me Trunds was one of the players who took our media coverage to a different level. His skills were second to none and he was one of the true entertainers. To make it better he scored plenty of goals and in the first season at the Liberty I firmly believe he was one of the very best players in the football league. He is now back at the club as an ambassador and another one worthy of the legend tag.

GARRY MONK

He captained us in all four divisions and is now the manager who led us to our best ever Premier League season last time around. Therefore it is no surprise to see his name in the final five. Monk was signed for the club by Kenny Jackett back in 2004 and he played in the last season at the Vetch and has been here ever since. He was being groomed for some time as a future manager of the club and he got that chance in February next year and he has taken us on as have all the managers he played under.

ASHLEY WILLIAMS

He's captain of Swansea and Wales. Ashley was signed for the bargain fee of £400,000 when he joined from Stockport and he has paid that back time and time again in his time here. He is one of the best defenders not just in the Premier League but In Europe for me and he gathered plenty of support via social media when we asked the question. You struggle to count occasions when Ash makes a mistake and he certainly always gives us all he has got. Will be brilliant (fingers crossed) to see him captaining Wales in France next summer.

FERRIE BODDE

I always have a tinge of regret when I think of Ferrie Bodde. I firmly believe that he could have played at the highest level and I would love to have seen him get the chance in the Premier League. He was a class above for his time with the club but that damned injury he sustained just finished it completely but he was mentioned enough to get his place here.

It wasn't just these players that were mentioned but they were mentioned the most by the people who responded via social media. It is difficult to have ignored the likes of Jason Scotland, Alan Tate, Wilfried Bony and others but there is your five to choose from so which one gets your vote? Cast it below.
