Experienced Football League referee Eddie Ilderton is the man in the middle when Dale travel to Northampton on Saturday.
Mr Ilderton is in 15th season as a league referee and this will be his 22nd appointment at a Rochdale match.
That long list started at the Crown Oil Arena on the opening day of the 2002/03 campaign when Eddie refereed his first Football League match as Dale recorded a 1-0 win over Leyton Orient.
Just four months earlier he was one of the assistant referees when we lost at home to Rushden & Diamonds in the play-offs.
We last saw Mr Ilderton in February when he refereed the 2-2 home draw with Crewe in which Dale had led 2-0 early in the game. He was also in charge of last season’s Capital One Cup tie at home to Coventry.

This will only be Eddie’s second game of the season, as he missed the first three months of the campaign through injury. He returned last Saturday at the League Two fixture between Notts County and Wycombe, showing four yellow cards and two red.
