Dale will kick off on a brand new surface on Saturday when they take on Charlton Athletic at the Crown Oil Arena.
With just a week's worth of work, the Spotland surface that had rapidly deteriorated before our eyes in recent home games has been ripped up and replaced with a brand new playing surface.
The players will train on the surface ahead of this weekend's game, but it is hoped that this will put an end to the poor conditions that hampered recent home performances.
Victory over the Addicks at the weekend will give Dale a first ever double over our South London opponents.
