It may well have been the worst kept secret in the world, but the sale of Andy Cannon to Portsmouth was confirmed on Boxing Day.
The deal was announced by Portsmouth boss Kenny Jackett following his side's defeat at Gillingham on Boxing Day. Jackett confirmed that the deal had been signed last week and will become active on January 1st when the transfer window opens.
The transfer fee is rumoured to be in the region of £150,000 but you would expect further add ons to be included in the deal, including a promotion bonus should Pompey reach the Championship this season.
it brings to a close a frustrating time at the club for Cannon who was highly regarded by Dale supporters but a time in which he struggled to maintain a regular spot in the starting eleven.
