Wiltshire referee Roger East is our official on Saturday for the game against Dagenham & Redbridge at the end of his first season on the Football League list.
A dead ringer for Crystal Maze presenter Richard O’Brien, Mr East has taken charge of 27 games this term, showing 55 yellow cards and 5 red.
Earlier in the campaign he refereed Dagenham’s FA Cup tie with Kidderminster, but this is the first time either club will have seen him in Football League action.
His games seem to have been unremarkable and free from controversy, which is hopefully a good omen for the weekend.
Last season Mr East was a linesman in the Premiership, as well as holding FIFA status, which meant he officiated at various international and club matches around Europe.
Dagenham’s Victoria Road ground will certainly bring him back down to earth!
