Though Neil Hair's progress hasn't entirely lacked controversy, he's the ref who sent off Harry Kewell. As the Daily Mirror reported:

Kewell felt there was a foul in the build up and was so incensed by referee Neil Hair’s decision to allow the goal to stand, that he was sent off by the official. ... On his red card, Kewell said: “I just said 'well done' to the referee. I said you can see ones (fouls) in the far corner, but you can’t see ones right in front of you."

Just as well Hilly isn't one to make sarcastic comments at the ref.
