The local Blackburn Paper Quote (Hilly wants the Job) If true 16:34 - May 18 with 1686 viewsinthenet

that Rochdale manager Keith Hill has set his heart out on becoming the next Blackburn Rovers manager. However it is understood that Charlton Athletic and another unnamed club are hoping to appoint him as well.

Hill played over 100 times for the Ewood Park club during his playing career and he is under consideration, along with others, to take over from the departed Paul Lambert.

The current favourite is Neil Warnock, who is currently at Rotherham United but his contract expires this summer and there has been no official word on his future either. Hibs boss Alan Stubbs has also been touted as a contender, along with Wycombe Wanderers manage Gareth Ainsworth, who is another former Blackburn player.

It is no secret that Charlton Athletic are looking for a certain type of manager to provide them with immediate promotion back into the Championship. They were relegated into League One after a disappointing season, and have already tried to tempt Chris Wilder to the club. He has since left Northampton Town to take over at Sheffield United.

The club will also reveal their retained list this Friday, with Lambert having no say in which of the out of contract players will be staying on. With no manager in place, or likely to be in place before then, assistant manager Alan Irvine and first-team coach Rob Kelly will have big says in the futures of the eight individuals.

Oh Dear

Still no meaningful quotes. More of the same slim pickings and theories. If Keith Hill is cobsidering the Charlton job, then he's learned nothing from his previous experience at Oakwell.

When Keith Hill was absent from Colchester and in the USA, he was at great pains to point out that nobody shoud be 'speculating' about his future. We know his Dad was (still is) poorly.

Hardly a time to be touting yourself round the country trying to find other jobs. Or so I would have thought.
