West Brom , my favourite away. Always good saints support there, I like the roof on the away end which makes it a good atmosphere, plenty of pubs and we usually do ok there. This stems back to 1976 when we drew there in the 5 th round of the FA cup as a 15 year old nipper it made an impression on me .
I dislike skates and Leicester. |

Agree Dirk. I thought Long had a good game. Sutton has never given us any praise over the years not sure what his problem is with us . Today showed we do have a good squad for the championship when everyone is up for it . The youngsters didn’t let anyone down today . |

After months away from competitive football, Oriol Romeu is ready to step back onto the pitch for Southampton, bringing experience, leadership, and a calming presence to the heart of midfield. The Spaniard, 34, rejoined the Saints last November after time without a club, and he has spent the past weeks quietly rebuilding his fitness and preparing for his return.
Speaking in his press conference today, Eckert said:
“He has so much experience to share here, so much quality in the game and the way he approaches things, and the way he can also lead others around him. Sometimes it needs time f you haven’t trained with a team for a couple of months and you come in at a certain age, it’s not like you just switch it on and everything clicks straight away. If you look at the miles of the game, especially in the middle of the pitch, we have players covering above 12 kilometres every single game, and we need that in the way we approach games at the moment. He’s been working so hard over the last weeks and months, and he’ll get a good chunk of minutes tomorrow.” |

I usually go up the night before for these type of games to avoid the rush ,relax have a few beers and enjoy the occasion, cheap train travel helps I realise that . UTS . |

Something has happened with the change of attitude of the players over the last few games. It started with sheff Utd at home. I could see they were giving it their all and it continued into the games following that. If you haven’t seen the players celebrating and punching the air and screaming after the Leicester game take a look, it’s shows real passion and determination this can only be a result of Tonda Eckert’s influence .
No need to eat humble pie mate. We all care about this club. |

Stephens has improved a lot. That tackle at Stoke right at the beginning of the game was immense and he is consistently performing well now after years of sub standard performances. Fair play to the bloke. I also think he is more of a leader than some suggest I’ve heard some saints players comment on how vocal he is. |

When I suggested all this about Larin people questioned me . Stats are stats no matter what the opposition , Larin has scored a lot of goals in his career for club and country. That is FACT. It doesn’t matter how long ago it was or what the opposition was.
As for the play offs yes we can do it for sure but we would just be lambs to the slaughter again if we got promoted without a massive increase in spending from our owners so what’s the answer ? [Post edited 8 Feb 9:08]

I just look at stats overall Dirk, I don’t make snap knee jerk comments. When we sign someone I don’t comment with things like “He’s must be crap never heard of him “ etc I go on other teams sites and get opinions of fans that watch these players every week.
QPR fans raved about Edwards, Wednesday fans raved about Charles. Two good players for this league. I didn’t want Edwards to return to QPR I don’t think he was given enough time here.
Sports Republic have make some awful signings but have also made some very good signings eg Fellows, Scienza, Jander and Azaz but no one gives them credit for that they just want to slag them off.
Let’s hope Larin can bang a few in 👍 |

We don’t hate him Nick but we can see Baz was awful with trying to stop shots driven hard across him which you either don’t see or refuse to admit it . Surely we can’t all be wrong ? From what I see and most of us see all our keepers make mistakes including Peretz but given more game time I’m sure he’ll improve and those saves at Stoke were outstanding. I think Peretz will also be good at organising his defence as he is more vocal . |

Dirk, I just don’t like the way everyone just repeats what everyone else says without really looking into things. He might be crap and yes it’s another gamble but his OVERALL career stats doesn’t suggest he’s crap.
As for Adam Armstrong leaving he clearly didn’t want to be here anymore and wanted a new challenge. You could see that in his recent performances.
