Carling Cup Draw Gives Swans A Royal Trip

Swansea City will get the chance to avenge last season's FA Cup third round defeat as they have been paired with Reading in the first round of the Carling Cup.

It was minutes from glory last season at Reading as the Swans led through Paul Connor's first half goal and looked to be securing an upset win against the Premiership chasing side. In the replay at the Vetch one of the Swans' best performances of the season was spoiled only by an injury time goal in front of the Sky cameras.

The Swans will be hoping that the tie, to be played in the week commencing 22 August will provide them with their first progress in the competition since 1999 when they defeated Millwall on aggregate.
