Captain Garry Monk wants former boss Roberto Martinez to leave the club alone and look elsewhere for players

Martinez has already returned to the club to poach Jason Scotland and placed a bid for Dutch midfielder Ferrie Bodde last week, but the offer was rejected out of hand by chairman Huw Jenkins.

The Spaniard has also been linked with a move for full back Angel Rangel, but Monk wants his former manager to look elsewhere for targets in the future, instead of further disrupting the Swansea squad.

The former Southampton defender told the News of the World: "I wish Roberto all the best at Wigan - but it'd be nice if he left us alone now.

"We've got to keep our best players and Ferrie is one of them. He's very important to us.

"I'll be glad when the transfer window shuts.

"Every club in this division is in danger of losing players while it's open.

"It's a nightmare. We've been building over the last few years and don't want to see all that work come to nothing."
