Time To Write About The Rams For Other Fans?
Time To Write About The Rams For Other Fans?
Wednesday, 31st Jul 2013 15:14 by Daniel J Sewart - Editor

Over the last few years RamZone has been through many changes, the main one being many of our long term writers have decided to spend their time on non DCFC related activities (madness I hear you scream!), so now we need you to write about the Rams!

As editor of the site for some time now - I’ve started to think of the site as “just something I do” without giving it much further thought beyond my love of the team and the responsibility of maintaining the oldest unofficial Rams fan site on the net.

And if I am being honest over the past couple of years with a young family and a heavy work load, I have been giving the future of the site a lot of thought, namely, what’s the point?

Well, I have had a lot of ideas around this question in the off-season and the obvious one is that RamZone is only as good as the stories you put on it. I need new blood to reinvigorate the site (and me!), as DCFC head into what hopefully will be another top flight tilt. It’s time to move beyond the snipes and gripes of social media and get back to old fashioned, opinion and writing that makes fellow fans think.

I believe the site can once again become a place that Rams fans love and head to for current comment, analysis and information written for the fans — not by the club or recycled on mass by a giant news corporation.

As part of re-building the site - I am looking to add some talented writers to the roster of RamZone. I’m searching for writers who are obsessed with the club and giving an alternate view to the black and white nature of modern media.

We are looking for new volunteer members of our team to express their views about Derby County FC for the entertainment of their fellow fans. You can write an opinion piece, news story or perhaps you would prefer to do our Match Preview or Match Report, whatever you’re interested in writing, there is no wrong answer so run it by me!

Most importantly as a volunteer writer the work load is minimal, articles can be as long or as short as you wish and can be weekly or fortnightly as your time allows.

All you have to do is write your piece and then send it to me.

That’s it!

I will then edit it for publication and take care of the rest. It couldn’t be easier to become a published Rams writer with thousands of fans reading your every word!!

I want writers with strong opinions, who understand the club, its history, current squad and most importantly present a positive attitude (by that I don’t necessarily mean a positive opinion) towards fellow fans and the team in their writing.

If you are interested in joining our team of volunteer writers, please send me a short email about yourself and what you would like to write about for the site.

I’m looking to get you straight into the action with the new season getting closer.

Let your fellow Rams know what you think by becoming a part of the original DCFC fan site written for the fans by the fans!
