Hogan hat trick milestone Sunday, 2nd Mar 2014 20:34 by Col In scoring his hat trick on Saturday, Scott Hogan became the first Dale player to score two hat tricks in the same season in almost fifty years. Hogan's hat tricks have come against WImbledon and Oxford, but you have to go back to 1966-67 to find the last player to have managed that for the club. And that was a certain Reg Jenkins. The late great striker managed to score two hat tricks for the club in the space of twelve days in November 1966, with hat tricks against Chester and Fleetwood. The feat has also been done by Jim Dailey, Frank Lord, Jack Livesey, Jimmy Wynn, Tommy Tippett, and Albert Whitehurst. He has a long way to match the achievements of Albert Whitehurst who managed five hat tricks in the 1926-27 season.
