Refwatch: Shrewsbury v Dale
Thursday, 17th Aug 2017 10:00 by TVOS

One of our most regular officials, Andy Haines, is the man in the middle for Saturday’s trip to the newly-named Montgomery Waters Meadow!

The Tyne & Wear referee will be taking take charge of his 25th Dale match, which we suspect is probably a record.

However, this is only his second away appointment in that lengthy list, with the last being the fine 4-3 win at Chesterfield in January 2008 in which David Perkins scored a hat-trick.

We last saw Andy in March at Dale’s 4-1 home defeat of Gillingham, while earlier last season he was again at the Crown Oil Arena for the 4-0 win over Walsall.

Further back in time, Mr Haines was the referee on 17th April 2010 when Dale clinched promotion from League Two with a 1-0 victory over Northampton.
