Knott the answer?
Thursday, 11th Jan 2018 17:39

Dale have made their second signing of the week with the loan signing of Billy Knott from Lincoln City.

Whilst the deal is a loan deal until the end of the season, it is to all intents and purposes a switch to Spotland as his deal at Sincil Bank runs out in the Summer.

He joined Lincoln at around this time last year from Gillingham after falling out of favour due to injury and a change of manager and became a key member of the side that secured the Conference title last season.

The ever reliable wikipedia describes his style of play as "high-intensity, high-energy", saying that he is a left footed attacking midfielder, who can also play out wide. His footballing CV is an admirable one with Chelsea and Sunderland amongst them, but it would seem that a spell at Bradford where he followed Gary Jones in midfield as they reached the FA Cup Quarter Final is probably the high spell of his career.

Knott is likely to make his debut this weekend against his former side Gillingham just four days after lining up against Dale in Tuesday's Checkatrade Trophy.
